Arriba Chocolates
In 1952 the Vanslembrouck family left Belgium and arrived in South Africa, opening the Belgica Hotel in St. George`s Street in Durban. The Rubenshof (an a la carte restaurant in the hotel) became known for the top quality confectionery mainly the pastries, cakes and chocolates and by 1985 the family began to focus and expand Cest si Bon and market the confectionery under the name of Arriba Chocolates. (Arriba was named after the aromatic cocoa bean.)
