We got goose bumps as we read Lynette’s words:

“What was supposed to be a holiday romance turned into the best years of our lives” Lynette and Shaun fell in love on a farm in the beautiful Vryburg so therefore it only made sense that they were to marry on a farm. We are over the moon that they chose The Cowshed to celebrate their special day. The Badfontein valley is breathtakingly beautiful in January, the lush green grass and trees look so fresh and bright an ideal backdrop for a summers day wedding. Lelanie du Preez of Those Photos Photography captured the memories of this day perfectly.

Lynette and Shaun decided on a farm wedding at the Cowshed as they said it stole their hearts immediately, the setting and whole ambience was perfect for their informal vintage farm wedding theme. There was a personal touch added to every aspect of the celebrations. Lynette and Shaun gave their guests a delicious looking cookie mix in a jar, homemade by Lynette.

Lynette’s dress was an exquisite ivory satin under champagne lace and she looked perfect in her own classically romantic style with her trendy boquet a rock rose vetplantjie.

The dress was the least of the couples worry with Shauns outfit needing more effort. The unique leather waistcoat had to be made and they chose John at Hank and Grey in White River. John put so much effort in that he even engraved Shauns initials into the buttons on the incredible waistcoat.

The bridesmaids complimented Lynette perfectly in their pretty floral dresses with gold and pink sandals. The groomsmen looked casually handsome in jeans, a crisp white collared shirt and some good old farm boots. The style fit in perfectly as the invite clearly said “sonrokkies en sandale, jeans en ‘n kraaghemp sal gepas wees”

Petie Pretorius from Villa Brocant made the 800km trip from Vryburg to ensure that everyone could enjoy beautiful, hearty boerekos. Lynette was sure that Petie was the perfect chef for their day as he knows exactly what people love to eat.

All in all the day was a real gathering and celebration of the clans from far and wide.

Lynette and Shaun would like to thank …

“Cara Cronje, Lelanie’s second shooter. Karin Eloff for the flowers picked up fresh from the market that morning. Petie for the amazing food, it was set out beautifully and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. My dear friend Andrea de Guisti who flew from Cape Town to play Highland Cathedral in the chapel on the piano (we carted there from home) as I walked to my husband.

Last but not least, the wonderful Diana and Ann for their immaculate venue. Working with them was such a pleasure, nothing was too much to ask and we never had any problems”
